NEXT BIG DOMAIN · PUBLIC LAUNCH
Next Big Domain is officially live.
I built it because I kept coming back to the same problem with domain selling:
far too much of the process stops once the name has been listed.
You buy a domain, add it to a marketplace and set a price. Then you wait.
Sometimes, you wait for a very long time.
There are already plenty of places to list domains for sale. Therefore, I
didn’t want to build another platform that simply gave sellers somewhere else
to put their names. Instead, I wanted to focus on what happens
after a domain is listed.
Domain selling needs a process
For many sellers, the traditional domain sales process is still remarkably
simple.
THE USUAL APPROACH
Buy → List → Wait
THE NEXT BIG DOMAIN APPROACH
Buy → Position → Research → Target → Campaign → Track → Follow up → Manage
A domain is an asset. However, listing it and waiting for somebody to discover
it is not the only way to sell it.
A more active process starts by understanding what the name could become,
who it could matter to and how to put it in front of the right people.
That is the process Next Big Domain is designed to support.
What is Next Big Domain?
Next Big Domain is a domain sales platform for investors and sellers who want
to take a more active approach to their portfolios.
Instead of jumping between spreadsheets, marketplaces, AI tools, notes and
research tabs, NBD brings the sales workflow together in one place.
1. Position the domain
First, work out what the name could become. NBD helps you consider suitable
industries, commercial angles and the types of businesses that could benefit
from the domain.
2. Research potential buyers
Next, research businesses and organisations that could realistically have a
reason to use the name. This gives the seller a much clearer starting point
for outreach.
3. Build a campaign
Once the research is complete, it can become something useful. For example,
NBD can help turn that work into outreach material, social content and
dedicated domain landing pages.
4. Track and follow up
Finally, keep enquiries, campaign activity and follow-ups connected to the
domain itself. As a result, your portfolio becomes something you actively work
through rather than a static list of names and prices.
Why positioning comes first
Simply calling a name a “premium domain” doesn’t explain why it matters to a
potential buyer. Before starting outreach, sellers need a clearer commercial
story.
What could this domain become?
Which industries make sense for it?
What kind of company could use it?
What is the strongest commercial angle?
Who should I actually be putting it in front of?
In other words, positioning gives the rest of the sales process a reason to
exist. Without it, lead generation can quickly become a list of companies
without a clear explanation of why they should care.
Research the right buyers
After positioning comes buyer research.
“Someone might want this.”
becomes “These are the kinds of organisations that could realistically have
a reason to use it.”
Importantly, that does not mean blasting hundreds of businesses with generic
sales emails.
Instead, I want NBD to encourage smaller, better researched and more relevant
outreach. When you understand the potential buyer first, the message you send
can be much more specific.
From research to campaign
Once you understand the domain and the potential buyer, the next step becomes
much easier.
For example, a seller might use direct outreach, social content, a dedicated
landing page or a combination of all three.
In addition, NBD’s Campaign Kit helps turn the research already completed into
usable campaign material. The important point is that the campaign comes
after positioning and
research, not before.
Keep the sales activity connected to the domain
As portfolios grow, it becomes surprisingly easy to lose track of what has
actually been done.
Who did you contact? Did they reply? Was there a follow-up? Which domains have
been actively marketed, and which ones have simply been sitting there?
Therefore, NBD is being built so that the activity around a domain becomes
part of the portfolio itself. That way, the portfolio becomes a working sales
system rather than just an inventory.
I’m building NBD as a domain investor
I’m not approaching Next Big Domain as a domain broker. I’m a domain investor
myself.
The platform grew out of the problems I was running into while trying to sell
and market my own portfolio.
I wanted better research, a more structured workflow and a way to connect the
different stages of selling a domain. Now that NBD is public, I also want real
sellers using real portfolios to influence what gets improved and built next.
The Founding Seller launch offer

your first three months
To mark the public launch, I’ve opened
50 Founding Seller places.
While places remain, the discount is applied automatically to eligible monthly

After the introductory three-month period, normal subscription pricing applies.
Start with one domain
If your current process is mostly Buy → List → Wait, try something different
with one name.
Position it. Research it. Find the people it could actually matter to. Then
build a campaign around it and track what happens.
After that, move on to the next one.
Domain selling shouldn’t stop at listing.
